………as Vice Chancellor, Adeoluwa reaffirms commitment to offering qualitative teaching.
The National University Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of thirty-three (33) new courses at the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti.
This was contained in a letter signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission and addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the institution Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa.
The letter said the programmes were approved after a verification visit by a panel of experts that carried out assessment of human and material available for the establishment of the programme in the University.
The NUC said the institution is now qualified to run all the proposed thirty-three courses beginning from the 2023/2024 academic session.
“The Vice-Chancellor is please invited to recall that a resource verification visit was carried out by panels of experts to some proposed academic programmes in Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for their establishment,”
“The Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the following under graduate programmes to be run in the main campus of the University with effect from the 2023/2024 academic session ” the letter reads.
The programmes approved are
B.Sc. Transport and Logistics Management
B.Ed. Educational Technology
B.LIS. Library and Information Science B.Ed. Early Childhood Education.
Others are B.Sc. (Ed) Computer Science Education
B.A. (Ed.) History
B.A. English and Literary Studies
B.A. History and International Studies
B.A. French
B.A. Linguistics
Also approved were B.A. Yoruba Studies
B.A. Islamic Studies
B.A. Religious Studies
B.A. Theology
B.Tech.Industrial Design
B.Sc. Biochemistry
B.Sc. Mathematics
B.Sc. Statistics
B.Sc. Agricultural Extension & Rural Development
B. Aquaculture and Fisheries
The University was also granted permission to run B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics, B.Sc.Hospitality Management and Tourism
B.Sc. Procurement Management
B.Sc. Cooperatives and Rural Development
B.Sc. Estate Management,
B.Sc. Quantity Surveying,
B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering,
B.Tech. Fashion Design,
B.Tech. Clothing and Textiles,B.Sc. Animal Science
B.Sc. Public Health
B.Sc. Health Information Management and
B.Sc. Social Work.
The University now have a total of Seventy-Eight courses.
Reacting to the news ,the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa said the University is committed to excellence and quality teaching.
He acknowledged the role of the State government,the Governing Council as well as the Staff in ensuring that the University soar higher.
The Vice Chancellor said prospective admission seekers now have opportunity to actualise their dreams of becoming great in life saying the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology Ikere-Ekiti would make them a star in the knowledge word.
