The House of Representatives member for Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, Honorable Davidson Akinlayo, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with the federal government amidst the proposed nationwide protest.

Speaking to journalists in Iyin Ekiti during a state caucus meeting of the APC held at the residence of the first Executive Governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Akinlayo described the planned protest, tagged “End Bad Governance,” as misplaced. He asserted that Nigeria has never had it better, highlighting that the current federal government is implementing decisive policies aimed at transforming the fortunes of the citizenry.

Akinlayo acknowledged the current scarcity of food and the hike in prices of goods and services, labeling them as temporary discomforts. He assured that normalcy and an improved quality of life would return before the end of the year.

He elaborated on various government programs and policies designed to enhance the quality of life, urging citizens to look beyond the current economic challenges and not let them lead to decisions that could regress the nation’s progress.

Akinlayo also took the opportunity to outline the initiatives he has undertaken to alleviate the hardship faced by his constituents, including periodic palliative measures, purchase of JAMB forms for student, public aid on school fees, health, assistance for small business owners and entrepreneurs among others commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for spreading the dividends of democracy across every nook and cranny of the state.

The representative pledged his continuous support to both the state and its people. On the matter of endorsing Governor Oyebanji, Akinlayo noted that the Governor’s performance over the past twenty months has proven his worthiness as a leader.

The clamor from the people of the state for his re-election, he said, is evidence that the party made the right choice in selecting Oyebanji as Governor.
