The Ekiti State Police Command, has paraded eight suspects for various criminal offenses, such as kidnapping, murder and conspiracy.
Parading the suspects, an officer of the information unit, Ayemoni Paul said the suspects were arrested at different locations by the Rapid Response Squad.
Giving details of the cases, Paul said: “On 23/11/2022 at about 15:30hrs, while the Command operatives were on rescue operation in Ijan-Ekiti forest, they arrested two notorious kidnappers namely: Ojo Jubril a.k.aa No story and Job Matthew. a.k.a 77.
According to him, on interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed that they kidnapped one Adams Segun aged 55yrs in his farm at Kajola Farm settlement, Ijan-Ekiti on 16/11/2022 and confessed to various kidnapping incidents in Ekiti State and mentioned one Daniel Mathew a.k.a Gbenbgeleku ‘m’, Busuyi Popoola a.ka Adaba ‘m’ and Daniel Second name unknown ‘m’ as their accomplices.
The suspects were said to have confessed further that they killed one Adams Segun who was kidnapped on 16/11/2022.
The officer also confirmed the arrest of three kidnappers namely: John Moses ‘m’, Monday Bawa ‘m’ and Boie Yandam ‘m’. in connection with the abduction of principal of Community primary School, Irele-Ekiti alongside one Olajide Idowu ‘m’, Ajayi Folorunsho ‘m’ and Ijaodola F.
Speaking on the last case, the police spokesman said at about 12:00hrs, four suspected armed robbers invaded Ekiti State Yam processing Factory Ilasa-Ekiti. On arrival at the scene, the hoodlums engaged the hunters in a gun duel as a result of which one of the armed robbers later identified as one Wareez ‘m’ Surname unknown sustained gunshot injury while other members of his gang took to their heels.
” Further effort intensified led to the arrest of one Lateef Lekan ‘m’ and Taofeek Abeeb ‘m’ who partook in the crime. One Alluminium window and five industrial fans stolen from the scene of crime were recovered from the arrested suspects. Meanwhile, the injured suspect was rushed to the General Hospital, Ikole-Ekiti at where he was certified dead.
The Command enjoined all Ekiti State citizens to be security conscious, vigilant, and report any untoward incident or happening observed in their locality to the nearest Police Station or call 08062335577..
