All is now set to vaccinate children between zero to five years old in Ekiti state in the third round of Outbreak Response OBR3.
The Chairman of the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency PHCDA Chief Mrs Monisola Oloro who made this known in Ado Ekiti, the state Capital during a social mobilization meeting with leaders across sectors and organizations including Media Practitioners in the state.
She explained to canvass the people especially mothers whose children fall within the age bracket to get their children ready to benefit from the exercise.
Oloro emphasized that the exercise which will take place between 9th and 12th of April 2022 will protect the children against diseases capable of causing physical deformity or death.

She said that the Fayemi led administration was assiduosly working to ensure that Ekiti continues topping the list in issues pertaining o citizens wellbeing and quality health standards for all.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Gilbert Seluwa remarked that the vaccines were effective, safe and free as well as enough to immunize all children under five years of age across the 16 LGAs, charging mothers to take the advantage and save the lives of their children.
Representatives the World Heath Organization (WHO), Dr Eyitayo Emmanuel, UNICEF, Dr Chima Obi, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Mr Busayo Afuye expressed their dissatisfaction about the overall result of the last exercise.
The new State Health Educator Mrs Jumoke Oguntoye and the State Immunization Officer Mrs Olayinka Ajimati decried the attitude of some mothers towards immunization.
Some of the participants commended the state government for always giving priority to the health care of Ekiti citizens especially the children
According to the Press officer of the agency Mr Femi Martins, the OBR is an exercise where health workers would go from house to house and visit places like Churches, Mosques Market places and shops where children aged 0-5 could be found to give 2drops of polio vaccines to each beneficiary would last for four(4) days across the 16 LGAs of the state.
