The efforts of Governor Biodun Oyebanji at improving the lives of people with Special Abilities in the state has continued to receive a boost.
The latest was from the Managing Director of Premium Trust Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim who was at the Government House in Ado to unveil plans to support the Governor in realizing his vision for the sector.
Governor Oyebanji who was represented by the Special Adviser, Special Education and Social Inclusion, Mrs Adetoun Agboola and other government team took the bank officials to the Children Therapy Center at the Old Governor’s office, where speech and visual therapy are being provided for special students, while the they also had a tour of the facilities at the Government’s special school for physically and intellectually challenged students in Ido Ekiti.
The Special Adviser Special Education explained the various transformative initiatives that had come the special schools through the intervention of Governor Oyebanji in the last 22 months.
Parts of these initiatives according to her included, the renovation of special schools and introduction of inclusive education program centers for people with disabilities, noting that it emphasized the governor’s resilient to building an inclusive society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can thrive.
She expressed gratitude to Premium Trust Bank for its interest in supporting the welfare of people with disabilities, noting that such collaboration is vital for enhancing the quality of life for these individuals in Ekiti State.
The Managing Director of Premium Bank, Mr Emefienim commended Governor Oyebanji’s advancement move in the sector, saying the financial institution focuses on initiatives that will positively impact communities, particularly the less privilege.
He noted that on-the-site assessment tour of the government special school would motivate the bank to respond more to the needs of the state government special schools.
