The member representing Ekiti South West Constituency 1 in Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Yemisi Ayokunle has congratulated Muslims in her constituency and their counterparts across the world on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting.
The Chairman House Committee on Information and Publicity also urged the Muslim community to use the period to pray to Allah for peace, unity and development of Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole
In a statement made available to the press through her Special Assistant, New Media & Publicity, Comrade Arowolo Samuel, Ayokunle noted that Ramadan was a period when Muslims should move close to the almighty Allah and show love to their neighbours.
The statement reads “During this Ramadan, Muslims must vow that they do not just want to be religious but want to be God-fearing and demonstrate genuine iman (faith in Allah and His words). They must rededicate themselves to the cause of Allah and our State.
“Once again, I congratulate our Muslims for witnessing this year’s Ramadan. I pray that Almighty Allah grant them all the grace and good health to witness the end of the fasting period and to witness many more Ramadan”.
