Barr. Yemi Ayodele Ayeni- BSc, MSc, LLB, LLM, BL, MCIArb (UK). The Symbol of HOPE!!!
Yemi Ayodele Ayeni Esq. popularly known as (YAA) hails from Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State Nigeria. He was born over forty years ago in Ido Ekiti to the family of (Late) Mr. Oluyemi Lucas Ayeni who hailed from Oye Ekiti. His both parents are respectively successful sanitary inspector and trader and are respected members of the community based on dignified lifestyles.
YAA started his elementary education at St John’s Primary School, Ido Ekiti in the mid-80s. Upon graduation, he proceeded to Ekiti Parapo College, Ido Ekiti for his secondary education and completed it in 1991.
Despite his challenging background, YAA never relented in the quest for knowledge which led him to proceed to University of Ilorin, Kwara State where he bagged B.Sc in Sociology in 1999. While in the University of Ilorin, his leadership traits began to emanate when he became an astute student leader by becoming Students’ Union Government Secretary General in 1997 and prior the line, he displayed the love for his home state; Ekiti when he co-founded the Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU), immediately Ekiti State was created in 1996.
He was the first to pilot the affairs of the Union in the University of Ilorin in 1997. As a patriotic Nigerian, he did his compulsory National Youth Service in Obio/Akpor Local Government, Rivers State in 1999 and in his usual stance towards humanity and as a member of JCI, he was appointed to the Board of Port Harcourt Junior Chamber International in 1999 and later relocated to Lagos to advance his career path.
Few years after, YAA left the shores of Africa for further education in United Kingdom where he respectively bagged M.Sc in Human Resource Management from Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland in 2008. Due to his quest for legal profession, he proceeded to the prestigious Royal Docks School of Law, University of East London where he bagged LLB in Law with Magna Cum Laude. While studying for his M.Sc in Scotland, he was elected Coordinator for African Students and was also elected a Senator at Edinburgh Napier University.
Upon graduation, he was nominated for “Excel Student of the Year” for his exemplary academic and leadership performance. As YAA was holding sway abroad, he has had his mind in Nigeria and how to contribute his own quota to its development and coupled with his undying love for legal profession and passion for policy reform, he enrolled at Nigerian Law School for Bar 1 and Bar 2 which he completed successfully and became a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Yemi Ayodele Ayeni later proceeded to Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland for his master’s in international law where he bagged LLM in International Law. He subsequently passed a required examination by Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and therefore became a Chartered member of the professional Institute.
YAA upon graduation at Edinburgh Napier Graduate School in Scotland established a magazine company known as Treasure Magazine International in the United Kingdom with coverage all over America, Africa and Europe. He served asthe Publisher and Editor in Chief of the media outfit. He is a seasoned journalist and a lawyer who has travelled round the world in search of knowledge.
He is a recipient of scholarships which includes; United Nations on Alliance of Civilisations, 2011 and Commonwealth Lawyers Foundation, Australia, 2017. He was nominated as a member of UN committee on “Beyond 2015”.
YAA has attended international conferences across the world, such as Commonwealth Law Conference in Australia, International Leadership Global Congress in Los Angeles, California USA where he presented a paper titled (African Leadership: The Pain of Abuse of Office), United Nations Alliance of Civilizations’ in Doha, Qatar, European Union for International Leaders in Belgium, Commonwealth Business Council in London UK amongst many others. To his credit, YAA was instrumental to drafting document for the success of Commonwealth Summit, Japan 2008.
YAA is a member of many global organizations which includes but not limited to; Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, Energy Institute, Human Rights Lawyers Association, United Kingdom, Amnesty International, Commonwealth Lawyers Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, United States Press Agency, United States of America, National Union of Journalists, United Kingdom and Commonwealth Legislative Drafting Counsel.
YAA was appointed and served as a member of the Board of Governors (Governing Council) of the prestigious University of East London, United Kingdom. He is currently sitting as an Advisory Committee member of the University of East London Alumni Association.
YAA is a recipient of numerous awards from different organisations which includes but not limited to; Life member of Federation of Ekiti State Students Union, Icon of Peace (NANS JCC), The Youth Motivator and National Association of Sociological and Anthropological Students.
YAA is the Principal Partner of YAA Law Consult in Nigeria. Yemi Ayodele Ayeni having emanated from a humble background is adequately equipped with the wherewithal to make positive impacts on the life of everyone he comes across.
