School Resumption: Initiative for Girl Child Liberation (IGCL) to distribute Learning Materials to Students

As students resume from the long term Holiday in Ekiti state on Monday, a non Governmental organization, Initiative for Girl Child Liberation (IGCL) will on Sunday 17th of September distribute learning material to the less privileged students across the state.

In a press release issued and personally signed by the founder and convener of the IGCL Miss Tolulope Akinyemi, the event will take place shop 5, Phenrose filling station Complex (formerly NNPC filling station) beside UBA Ajilosun Ado Ekiti at 3 in the afternoon.

The annual program which is the fourth  edition in EKiti state will feature the distribution of 600 exercise books, 60 school bags and other learning materials to hundreds of pupils and secondary school students from lowly backgrounds.

According to her, students whose names have been sent and would be sent via SMS to the line 08066879738 earlier announced would be considered as recipients of the gesture.

There would also be the distribution of relief materials for the less privileged in the society which will hold at the Heritage Glorious Intercessory Prayer Ministry, After police headquarters, old Iyin Road, Odo-Uro,Iyin-Ekiti.

Miss Akinyemi who is the franchise owner of SKYNET Worldwide Express Franchise in Ekiti state, listed the goals of the IGCL to include creating awareness for the need of girl child education, promoting and encouraging young female talents for self reliance as well as assisting female students at achieving excellence in their endeavours called on civil society organizations and NGOs to rise up to the challenges of reducing out of school children in the state.

She explained that IGCL was expanding its reach having beyond Ekiti, Ondo And Oyo state where the NGO is currently operating noting that all hands must be on deck to salvaging the education sector of the country particularly reducing the threats militating against the academic pursuit of female students.
