Stakeholders in Ekiti Transport Sector Meet, discuss Revenue Generation, giving Ado-Ekiti face-lift

To bolster revenue generation in Ekiti State, and support the exceptional development taking place under Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration, the Commissioner for Transportation in Ekiti State, Hon. Pst. K. K Ajobiewe held a crucial meeting with the Transportation Unions Chairmen and Secretaries in the state along with other stakeholders.

The meeting, which took place in Ado Ekiti, was to establish a rapport with the unions and discuss ways to increase revenue generation through their cooperation.

Government official at the meeting include Executive Secretary of Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency (EKSTMA), Mr. Tai Akomolafe, Director of Public Transportation, Mr. Oguntuase, Director of VIO, Engr. Ayegbusi, and a representative from Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service

The meeting was also attended by representatives from various transportation unions, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Okada Riders Association, National Association of Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders (NACT), Tricycle Riders Association, and various others.

During the meeting, the Unions shared insights into their mode of operations and how they contribute monetarily to the government, the gathering, attendees exchanged ideas and opinions on how to move the Ministry forward.

The Commissioner for Transportation emphasized the importance of unity among the transportation unions and the need for them to collaborate with the government to achieve common goals.

Hon. Pst. K.K Ajobiewe highlighted the role of the unions in ensuring a smooth and efficient transportation system in the state. He emphasized the need for proper regulation and adherence to traffic laws, which would ultimately lead to increased revenue.

The Commissioner urged the Unions to cooperate with the government and stressed the good intentions of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji towards them.

He assured the Unions that the government would actively include them in its plans, as the Governor is known for his dedication to the welfare of the masses. It was emphasized that supporting the Governor in achieving his goals would benefit both the Unions and the state as a whole.

In his closing remarks, the Commissioner for Transportation expressed optimism about the fruitful collaboration between the government and the transportation unions.

He assured them of the government’s support and commitment to their welfare, emphasizing that the revenue generated would be reinvested in the development of the state.

He thanked the Governor of the State for allowing him to serve in this capacity and prayed that God will continue to strengthen and help the governor to achieve his goals for the good people of the State.

Overall, the meeting was seen as a positive step towards achieving increased revenue generation in Ekiti State, fostering a closer relationship between the government and transportation unions, and ultimately supporting the ongoing development efforts under Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration.
