SUPPORT SPORTS DEVELOPMENT – VC CHARGES PARENTS

 

The Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has charged parents to support the development of sporting activities in our educational institutions.

The Vice Chancellor gave the charge in a message during the maiden inter-house sports competition of EKSU International College, Afao Ekiti held at the sports complex of the College.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented at the event by the Dean, Faculty of Education, Professor Akin Jegede, called on stakeholders to give necessary support to students to enable them actualize their dreams.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Acting Principal of the College, Dr (Mrs) Christianah Ayodele, called on Ekiti State Government to evolve comprehensive sports programme that would enhance the potential of Ekiti youths, stressing that this was a way of encouraging them to shun cultism and other vices.

The high point of the event was the entertainment of guests and spectators with greetings in different languages such as Spanish, French, German and Yoruba.

At the end of the competition, Green House came first with 159 points, Red House, second with 152 points, Blue House, third with 128 points and Yellow House, 4th with 116 points.
