In a long while I haven’t visited Igbemo, I usually end my journey at Ijan, and most of the journey I have made in recent times to Ijan is to get rice husk, those who rear pigs understand it is one of the major components of pig feed.
On the 12th of May 2022, I woke up with the mind of getting rice husk from a nearby Factory in Ago Aduloju, but I didn’t get it, I proceeded to Ijan, on getting to Ijan, I met the factory under lock and key, I put a call through to the factory owner, she said she was at the farm and didn’t drop her key because she is having kegs of red oil inside the milling factory, which I saw the last time I went their.
Hmmm! My hope of getting rice husk for the pigs dashed! How do I leave them to go on hunger strike, knowing fully well that I have several sow (nursing mothers) amidst them? I decided to proceed to Igbemo, but I haven’t been there in a long while, I was thinking of the road, when I inquire from a passer by and he said in less than 30minutes I will be in Igbemo from the tolled junction at Ijan, it sounded nice and Vroom!!! I journeyed.
Now to the crux of the matter!
I was amazed when I saw a road neatly constructed, immediately I remembered it is one of the works of JKF2 administration, myself read in the news, and saw pictures, but haven’t visited this same route since the commencement and completion of the project.

If you truly want to assess any government, the state capital is not enough perimeter for assessment, ideally every government will want to imprint their footsteps at the state capital, but in essence, rural communities and towns are the best places to assess what a government is doing, and this is what is obtainable in Igbemo and Ekiti at large.

I am sure the people of Igbemo, a major rice producing community will always pray for this current administration for connecting them with their market. On seeing this neatly constructed road I engaged some of the dwellers of Igbemo and I could see the excitement of having the road on their faces, it has truly hissed their burdens and made life better for them. This brings me to the fact that Dr. Kayode Fayemi has done a lot and he is still doing more, however, our political system won’t allow him to have more time in office, but we can do well to pass the baton to someone who has gathered experience from JKF’s school of thought, and this is another pointer to the reason why BAO is the best candidate to be voted for in Ekiti.
We truly need a unifying personality who will continue from where JKF will stop after his tenure in office, and BAO is the best person to carry on from here, let’s do well to support and vote continuity in Ekiti State.
