A member of the Ekiti State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Tolu Olanrewaju, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his emergence as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 gubernatorial election, describing it as a reflection of the Governor’s sterling performance and inclusive leadership style.
Olanrewaju, who hails from Ifaki-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area, commended the Governor for his humility, accessibility, and people-oriented policies that have continued to endear him to citizens across political divides. He said the decision of party leaders and members to unanimously adopt Oyebanji as their flagbearer was a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence the people have in his administration.
Speaking with journalists during the delegates’ affirmation event in Ado-Ekiti, Olanrewaju described the Governor’s re-nomination as “a victory for unity, continuity, and good governance in Ekiti State.” He noted that the process was devoid of rancour, emphasizing that it reflected the maturity and discipline within the APC family in the state.
The Board member lauded Governor Oyebanji’s steady approach to governance, especially his emphasis on inclusivity, youth empowerment, and grassroots development. According to him, the administration has demonstrated a sincere commitment to improving the lives of the people through transparent leadership, infrastructural renewal, and economic revitalization.
Olanrewaju particularly noted that it was unprecedented in the political history of Ekiti State that all former governors are united in support of the incumbent, stressing that such alignment was a strong validation of Oyebanji’s leadership qualities and ability to manage political differences with wisdom and humility.
He urged the Governor not to allow distractions from detractors or political jobbers to derail the focus of his administration, reminding him that the people of Ekiti have entrusted him with their collective mandate. He added that maintaining the current peace and developmental momentum should remain the top priority in the months ahead.
Olanrewaju also assured Governor Oyebanji of the unflinching support of the youth across the 177 wards of the state, pledging that they would mobilize massively to ensure his re-election. He said Ekiti youths have found in Oyebanji a true mentor and visionary leader who understands their aspirations and has consistently created opportunities for them to thrive.
While congratulating the Governor once again, Olanrewaju reaffirmed his personal loyalty and commitment to the administration’s success. He expressed optimism that with continued unity, focus, and the support of all stakeholders, Ekiti State would witness greater achievements in human capital development, infrastructure, and prosperity under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership.
