The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has commended the developmental strategy of the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, particularly in the area of road construction aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.
Okpebholo gave the commendation while commissioning the 19-kilometre Ikere–Igbara Odo Road and the newly constructed Renewed Hope Farms Dormitory in Ikere Ekiti. He said the projects reflect the Ekiti governor’s commitment to using infrastructure as a tool for agricultural and rural development.

Governor Okpebholo who described Oyebanji’s approach as a model for tackling food insecurity, reducing unemployment, and promoting economic prosperity noted that such investments are essential for sustainable growth and poverty reduction.
The Edo governor noted that Oyebanji’s administration has demonstrated foresight and consistency in its developmental agenda, with projects strategically aligned to the state’s economic potential.
He emphasized that Ekiti’s road projects were not just for urban renewal but designed to connect farming communities and ease the transportation of goods to markets. Okpebholo expressed admiration for the progress recorded in the last three years, noting that Oyebanji’s leadership style reflects intentionality and sincerity in advancing the shared prosperity agenda for the people of Ekiti State.
Speaking at the event, Governor Oyebanji explained that all projects embarked upon by his government were delivered to time and cost, lauding the quality of procurement and the professionalism displayed by the various contractors in the state.
Oyebanji who thanked Presdent Bola Tinubu for his support to the state, said the various policies of the federal government had made abundant resources available to the state, hence the reason for the successes recorded by his government. He also commended the support of the various communities and the cooperation Local government chairmen in delivering dividends of democracy to the citizens.
The Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu as well as other notable citizens of Ikere Ekiti including the state deputy Governor Okinlua Monisade Afuye, Mr Kayode Babade and the Chairman Ikere Local Government Mr Olu Adamolekun lauded the Governor, they said the Ikere Igbaraodo road will boost trade and the economy of the surrounding communities.
Also, Stakeholders in the agricultural sector including Mrs Yemisi Joluwe Mr and some beneficiaries of the programme Mr Johnson Owoeye commended the huge investment of the government in Agriculture particularly in making life comfortable for the youth farmers.
