The process preceeding its establishment could be likened to an audacious hope and giant leap of faith against all odds. The profound sense of gratitude and euphoria that greeted its birth was enormous, yet understandable.

At least, inspize all, hope was not disappointed. Like a wild fire in harmattan, it broke stereotypes and shattered conventions to earn the sobriquet of the fastest growing new University in Nigeria.

Structured to provide experiential learning opportunities for the education of the total man, with special focus on vocational and entrepreneurial education, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, set out to make a difference in the educational landscape through the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge in line with contemporary trends.

At a period which can be described as one of the darkest moments of the nation’s educational history, with respect to COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged ASUU strike, this vision-focused and mission-driven University has left visible footprints in many areas.

With the tickling of clock by the day, two years of eventful journey have gone by and it is a story of so far, so good and something to cheer about.

In a special message on behalf of the University Management, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa was full of praises to God on the journey so far. He congratulated members of staff and students on the second anniversary of the University’s existence and applauded their immense contributions to the gradual stability of the University.

He noted that there were still hurdles to scale as the University advances in the actualisation of its mission and sought their continued support in the task ahead. He remarked that the University had, within a short period, recorded significant growth and development as well as substantial recognition.

He assured members of staff and students of a brighter future and charged them to keep praying for the University while constantly keeping a tab on its development.

It would be recalled that Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti came into being on October 16, 2020 when the Ekiti State Government upgraded the then College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti to a full fledged University.
