Ekiti State Government has put all efforts on ground to ensure that State Public Service meets global standard.
The Head of Service,Bamidele Agbede Esq made this known during a capacity building programme organized for the staff of Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency in Ado.
Agbede said that one of the hallmark of the Dr Kayode Fayemi-led administration is the recognition of human capital development ‘One of the Hallmark of the outgoing administration of Dr John Kayode Fayemi ,CON, is the recognition of human capital development which has paved way for improved productivity and efficient service delivery in the public service ‘.
He went further to state that ‘It is on record that about fifteen thousand, four hindered and seventy- three (15,473) public servants benefitted from both local and international trainings during the administration. Recently, some senior Public Servants sponsored by the state Government on postgraduate courses at Ekiti State University, have just graduated.
The Head of Service stressed that it is imperative that the public servants need always refresh their memories about norms, rules and regulations guiding the activities of the civil service therefore the importance of the training cannot be overemphasized.
A statement by the Director of Press Office of the Ekiti State Head of Service Mr Femi Bamisaye noted that the HOS emphasized that the government would continue more efforts towards ensuring that public servants are conversant with the guiding principles of the civil service: hence, the production and review of the Handbook on Ethics, Public Service Rules, Civil Service Commission regulations and other relevant books which public servants need to familiarize themselves.
While declaring the 3-day workshop open, he charged the participants at the workshop to take the topics in the seminar seriously, optimize the time and use the opportunity wisely as some things they will discuss at the workshop will be useful for them during promotion interviews.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Establishments and Service Matters, Mr Bayo Opeyemi, during the presentation of his paper on “An overview of the Civil service, ethics and public service rules” elucidate more on the general overview of the civil service structure and ethics, noting all the important provisions of the Public Service Rules.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Ayodele Seluwa stated that the 3- days capacity building and workshop is one of the steps taken by the Agency in efforts geared towards supporting the officials in achieving the objectives of the agency.
He pledged the cooperation of the members of staff with the State government at ensuring an improved health system in the primary sector.
