Community Youths in Ekiti North Score Adetunmbi, Aribisogan Low, Lauds Fayemi, Peter Owolabi, others

Community youths and Bodies of Students’ Unions in Ekiti North Senatorial District have reviewed the performances of political office holders in the area with an applaud for the achievements of Governor Kayode Fayemi in the last 43 months.

The youth from across different towns and communities in the district gathered at Ilupeju Ekiti, to deliberate on the activities of all political office holders in the area, where they gave kudos to the achievement of Honorable Peter Owolabi, a member of the House of Representatives who was elected under the flagship of the All Progressive s Congress (APC) in 2019.

They said that Owolabi domesticated the development agenda of Kayode Fayemi through various  initiatives, empowerment programmes and students’ assistance.

They also commended Some members of the state House of Assembly from the area including Mr Reuben Awoyemi, Yemi Osatuyi and Hon Aribasoye for a job welldone in the area of youth inclusion politics and assisting them achieved their dreams.

The youth who represented different occupational demography, including graduates, undergraduates, artisans, entreprenuers, farmers etc, and from different political parties decried the low perfomance some other politicians whom they alleged had no impact since their assumption of office.

The youth representatives from Ikole /Oye Constituency including Mr Seun Onipede from Itapa Ekiti, Ìdòwú Akomolafe from Ilafon- Ekiti, Seyi Babatunde from Otunja Ekiti among others scored Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi and Mr Gboyega Aribisogan low in terms of yielding dividends of democracy to the people.

They alleged Senator Adetunmbi of having no impact on the people in his last 3 years at the National Assembly in Abuja and that Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan cut himself off from relating with the electorate ever since he was elected into the state House of Assembly in 2019.

They charged political leaders to always live up to their expectations as exemplified in Governor Kayode Fayemi and Peter Owolabi and ensuring that their electoral promises are always taken serious.

The speaker Ekiti State Youth Parliament Mr Toba Fatunla and the Coordinating youth President Oye Local Government, Mr Femi Fagbemi who doused the tensions emanating from the fuming youths, sensitized them on the importance of youth involvement in politics.

They explained that the only way to support or reject a government is through their active participation and not by engaging in violence. They advised them to get their PVC, vote their conscience as a way to partaking in the decision making process of who determines their destinies in the next four years.

In his reaction, Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan explained that he had done his best by sponsoring different bills in the state Parliament, construction of Solar power supply at the palaces of town monarchs, among other infrastructures.

As at the time of filing this report, Senator Olu Adetunmbi had not reacted to the issue. He said he was in a meeting when our reporter put a call through to him but promised to respond through a text message sent to him.
