The Bishop Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, the Most Rev Felix Ajakaiye has called on parents not to just send children to schools only in the name of academic standards.
Bishop Ajakaiye made this known while addressing the old and the current students of the Saint Louis Grammar School Ikere Ekiti during the 60th anniversary of the school.
The clergy who said that schools are not only for books but also a training camp for morality and leadership noted that Saint Louis Grammar School Ikere Ekiti had proven itself beyond doubt as an institution where the female folks are built for leadership and soceital change.
He condemned indiscipline among some parents which he said are mostly transmitted and manifesting in their children including the acts of beating teachers.
Bishop Ajakaiye emphasized the need to instill discipline among students as he commended the Ekiti State government for initiating moves towards returning Missionary schools to the owners in the best interest education sector and the society at large.
He lauded the various achievements of the Saint Louis Old Girls Association (SLOGA), saying that it has contributed in no small measures to the growth of the school.
