Ekiti 7th Aseembly: 3 Years of Transformative Lawmaking, 33 Laws, One Vision for Digitally Driven, Accountable Legislature

How Ekiti’s 7th Assembly has been Redefining Legislative Excellence Through Innovation, Transparency and Institutional Reforms

Under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, Speaker, the 7th Assembly is rewriting the story of legislative excellence in Ekiti:

1. NIGERIA’S FIRST DIGITAL CHAMBER
We unveiled Nigeria’s first fully digitalised legislative chamber. Paperless plenary, e-voting = more transparency, less waste. Ekiti is leading, others are following.

2. LAWS THAT TOUCH LIVES
35 Bills passed. 33 signed into Law in 3 years.
18 Private Member Bills by Hon. Members = grassroots voices heard.
From Electricity Law to Anti-Land Grabbing Law to Youth Trust Fund — we are legislating solutions, not politics.

3. WORLD-CLASS INFRASTRUCTURE
Full remodeling of the Assembly Complex 85% done.
New digitized Broadcast Studio for live plenary.
Functional, modern website for open access to laws & votes.
Coaster bus procured for effective legislative duty.

4. PEOPLE & STAFF FIRST
Autonomous House of Assembly Loans Board established for staff welfare.
3 retreats + regular training with NILS, PLAC to build capacity.
A motivated staff = efficient service delivery.

5. YOUTH & FUTURE LEADERS
“Speaker for 10 Minutes” initiative is giving Ekiti youths a seat at the table. Leadership is a seed we are planting today for tomorrow.

6. RECOGNITION & IMPACT
Awarded Best Performing Assembly on ICT Integration in Nigeria 2024 by Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Presidency office.
Other Assemblies visited Ekiti to understudy our model. Ekiti is now the standard.

7. PEACE & PARTNERSHIP
Seamless, rancour-free relationship with the Executive under Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
Because when Legislature + Executive work together, Ekiti wins.

3 years. Countless impact. One goal: EKITI FIRST.

“This is just the beginning. We will keep building a legislature that is modern, accountable, and respected.”

Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye,
Speaker, 7th EKHA
