The OLUKERE of Ikere Ekiti, Odo Oja, Oba Abdulganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin (Okomolese (1) has congratulated the Muslim community in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State and Nigeria at large on the completion of 2023 Ramadan fasting and the dawn of Eid-el-Fitri.
In a statement, Oba Obasoyin urged the faithfuls to imbibe the lessons and spirits of the fasting month and let the same henceforth guide their conducts in society.
Kabyiesi OLUKERE appealed to the people of Ikere and beyond to celebrate Sallah with utmost decorum and imbibe the culture of discipline, charity and forgiveness after the Holy month.
“Steadfastness and total submission to Allah will make society habitable to all and devoid of war, hostility, rancor, poverty and other calamities”.
“We should continue to show love, forgiveness and respect to one another while the lessons of the Ramadan must reflect in our daily lives,” the Monarch said.
Oba Obasoyin who commended the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye for their policies and programmes aimed to bring prosperity back to the land of Ekiti, charged them not to relent especially in quest to ensure the full commencement of the construction of Ikere/Akure road project which he affirmed would engender socio economic development of both states.

The road linking Ikere with Akure which is a Federal road had been in a deplorable state for years with no attention given, but no that it has been reawarded, I commend all the Stakeholders that facilitated the move, people like former Governors, Kayode Fayemi, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Governor Biodun Oyebanji and outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari”.
“I urge them to ensure speedy commencement of the road project before the start of full rainy season”. “After completion of the road, there will be easy passage of vehicles and transport fares would be minimal for commuters plying the route”.
The monarch prayed to Allah for the development of Ekiti State and the transition of a new government at the federal level, saying the President Elect-Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government would reshape the economy of the nation for the better.
He further urged the incoming nation’s leaders to provide employment for jobless youth while providing a permanent solution to the security challenges facing the nation.
