… assures of effective implementation
The Chairman of Emure Local Government , Mr Joseph Adu, has signed into law a One billion, Nine hundred and Ninety Five Million Naira (N1,995,000) for 2023 fiscal year.
Speaking at the ceremony at Emure Local Government headquarters Hon. Adu said that the budget christened “Budget of Consolidation” was tailored towards the six pillars of the oyebanji administration.
The beyond the News reports that the chairman assented to the bill in his office in the presence of the leadership of the council’s legislative arm and other dignitaries.
Hon Adu after receiving the financial documents from the leader of the legislative arm noted that a public hearings were held for the collation of inputs, as basis for the budget preparations, aimed at having direct impact on the people of the council.
“What we forwarded to the legislative arm was the requests and aspirations of the constituents, and today, we signed the “Budget of Consolidation” into law.
“We shall consolidate on our past achievements to ensure that our efforts to reach out to our people yeilded positive results in the interest of all”, he said.
He appreciated the legislative members for the speedy passage of the budget, saying that the gesture has no doubt confirmed their readiness to ensure good governance and delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people.
“I wish to appreciate the doggedness of the Legislative Arm, which painstakingly reviewed the bill after proper scrutiny.
“This budget is people oriented in line with the vision of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration in stimulating growth and development of Emure local government, ” he stated.
Adu reiterated the commitment of his administration in implementing the 2023 Budget which he said would impact positively on the lives of the people of the area.
”We at the council had already initiated the process of enhancing service delivery to the people, particularly those in the rural communities” Adu added.
According to him, the budget would be financed by funds from the federation account and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The LG boss however, solicited for the support and cooperation of the people in the area for the implementation and success of the budget particularly at stimulating growth and development.
He disclosed that the budget had a Capital expenditure of N1,094,000,000 billion and a Recurrent expenditure of N951,000,000 Million.
The Leader of the Legislative house, Rt. Hon. Kolawole Ogundare while presenting the appropriation bill to the Executive Chairman for his assent, pledged the readiness of the legislative arm to support the chairman to ensure full implementation of the budget.
He explained that few adjustments were made to upgrade the budget to meet with the global best practice.
The Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo who was represented by one of his chiefs, High Chief Abegunde Adedayo also applauded the synergy between the executive arm and legislature in fast tracking speedy passage of the bill.
The Monarch encouraged them to allow the good relationship among them to translate to good work, quality service delivery towards uplifting the social and economic condition of the people of the state.
He however tasked them on the effective implementation of the budget.
Other Stakeholders also commended the efforts of members of the legislative arm of the council for their commitment towards development of the area.
They urged him to be transparent in its financial dealings by showing a high level of probity and accountability.
