….Urges Ekiti People to Unite Behind Governor’s Development Agenda
Pharmacist Adedayo Oluwasanmi, a prominent stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory at the Supreme Court, describing the judgment as a resounding affirmation of the mandate freely given to the governor by the people of the state.
Oluwasanmi, an indigene of Ode Ekiti, said the apex court’s decision has finally laid to rest all legal disputes surrounding the 2022 governorship election, providing the governor with the needed political stability to intensify the delivery of democratic dividends across the state.
In a statement made available to journalists, the APC chieftain said the verdict represents not only a personal victory for Governor Oyebanji but also a triumph for democracy, the rule of law and the collective will of Ekiti people.
He noted that the judgment reaffirmed the confidence of the judiciary in the electoral process and underscored the importance of allowing the people’s mandate to prevail over prolonged legal contests.
Oluwasanmi described Governor Oyebanji as a visionary and compassionate leader whose administration has continued to record remarkable achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth empowerment and human capital development.
According to him, the governor has demonstrated uncommon dedication to inclusive governance by carrying every section of the state along, irrespective of political affiliation, while maintaining peace and stability across Ekiti.
He commended the governor for remaining focused on governance throughout the legal proceedings, noting that rather than being distracted by litigation, Oyebanji continued to pursue policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
The APC stalwart said the Supreme Court judgment should serve as a rallying point for all political actors in the state to put aside partisan differences and work together for the continued growth and development of Ekiti.
He urged those who participated in the legal challenge to accept the decision of the apex court in the spirit of sportsmanship, stressing that the interest of the state should always take precedence over individual political ambitions.
Oluwasanmi expressed confidence that the governor would use the legal victory as renewed motivation to consolidate on the developmental strides already recorded by his administration.
He also praised the maturity displayed by Governor Oyebanji throughout the judicial process, describing his calm disposition and respect for the rule of law as qualities worthy of emulation by other public office holders.
The pharmacist further commended the judiciary for upholding justice and strengthening public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic institutions through its impartial interpretation of the law.
He said the verdict has removed every uncertainty surrounding the administration, thereby creating a more conducive atmosphere for governance, investment and sustainable development in Ekiti State.
Oluwasanmi prayed for greater wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Governor Oyebanji as he continues to steer the affairs of the state, expressing optimism that the administration would achieve even greater milestones in the years ahead.
He also called on residents of Ekiti to continue supporting the governor through constructive engagement, peaceful coexistence and active participation in programmes designed to accelerate the state’s socioeconomic development.
Oluwasanmi concluded by reaffirming his confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, saying the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his election marks the beginning of a new chapter of greater unity, accelerated development and shared prosperity for the people of Ekiti State.
