EKITI NSCDC READY TO END BLACK MARKETING OF FUEL, VANDALISATION OF PUBLIC UTILITIES

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ekiti State Command Headquarters, Ado Ekiti, has set to deploy its full operational capacity to make Ekiti inhabitants enjoy the coming Yuletide and ensuring that public utilities that support the society is protected against vandalism.

The State Commandant while addressing the his officers and men noted that the command will deploy its Intelligence arm, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Agro-Rangers Unit Special Female Tactical Squad, Disaster Management Unit and Anti Vandal Unit for the coming Christmas and New year celebrations to ensure watertight security in the areas of the Corps core mandates with synergy from other similar agencies in Ekiti State.

The State Commandant, Mr . John Olatunde also read riot act to black marketers in the state to quit the business as the Command is going all out to arrest any illegal dealings in petroleum products which will not spare any of the local governments within the state.

In a statement signed by CDPRO DCP Tolulope Afọlábí , Fayemi added that a full operational strength of the State Command’s will be channeled across the 52 formations of the Command in and around Ekiti State.

The Commandant who further advised residents of Ekiti State to ensure that petroleum products are not kept at home so that greed will not consume innocent people living in the state as well as destruction of Critical National Assets opined that federal government has assured Nigerians on the availability of fuel throughout this coming Christmas and New Year celebration and filling stations owners in the state should not create artificial scarcity by selling what is available in their dump to ease the demand for the product.

In the area of disaster management, the State Commandant said that the command will deploy the Command’s ambulance services to assist in rescue operations so as to reduce response time and zero tolerance to avoidable death during this season with a warning to the people to be very careful of fire disasters especially in this dry season where are engaging in uncontrollable bush burning that can consume other unintended properties.

Meanwhile, he assured Ekiti residents of the continuous deployment of the Civil Defence personnel across worship centers in such way that the vulnerable ones can be adequately protected while intelligence will be unabated to aid effective service delivery to the people.
