Ikole Constituency II came alive this Christmas with the annual homecoming of its son and Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye.
During the 48 hour outreach, the Speaker held a series of engagements and meetings with traditional rulers, party leaders, community stakeholders, and family groups, where he feasted with them and extended generous welfare support at every stop.
The first port of call was a strategic meeting with monarchs in the constituency, where the Speaker highlighted his numerous impacts across all wards and acknowledged the support and cooperation of his colleagues toward the uncommon stability currently enjoyed in the 7th Assembly.
The traditional rulers, after presenting important issues requiring his attention and intervention, commended Aribasoye for his sterling performance, leadership proficiency, humility, and generosity, describing him as a model politician and worthy representative.
At his Odo Ayedun residence, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye hosted a constituency engagement meeting where each of the six wards in Ikole Constituency II received five bags of rice, 200 thousand naira cash support, and 240 yards of Ankara fabrics, the latter being an annual gesture from the Speaker’s wife.
The neighbouring Ikole Constituency one was also remembered, as the Speaker donated two bags of rice and ₦50,000 cash to each of its wards just as children, youths, women, and various groups including Okada riders and the Amotekun Corps equally benefited from distributed packages such as rice, noodles, condiments, and Christmas hats, among others.
Ward chairmen, youth and women leaders, and respected community figures took turns to applaud the Speaker’s commitment to the development of his constituency while Chief Ranti Adebisi, Elder Alaba Abejide, and Magistrate M. O. Ajayi praised him as a loyal, respectful and impactful young man with good reputation.
Similarly, the Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, described the Speaker as an outstanding performer, a “symbol of legislative excellence,” and a competent parliamentarian whose service delivery is widely acknowledged.
Amid his tour of communities, the Speaker performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a Games Gallery at Oke Ayedun, a project that complements the existing one in Odo Ayedun and will be replicated across all wards in Ikole Constituency II.
Speaking at various stops, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye reaffirmed his passion for improving the welfare of his people through job facilitation, financial support initiatives, empowerment programmes, and bill settlements for the needy.
He also expressed delight at Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s recent commendation, describing the 7th Assembly as the best he has seen throughout his decades in politics.
Aribasoye urged his constituents and Ekiti people in general, to sustain their support for the people-centered Oyebanji administration by voting massively for continuity in the 2026 elections.
The Owa of Ayebode Ekiti, Oba Olusola Omolayo was pleased to host the Speaker and his team at his palace on Christmas day evening while the team also paid a visit to APC chieftain, Elder Alaba Abejide at his Ipao residence.
