Ikole Youths call on Gov. Fayemi to save their souls from kidnappers, charge police to sit up.

Youths in Ikole Ekiti under the aegis of Ikole United Front and youth presidents of all the 25 communities in the area have protested the abduction of Mr Idowu Ajayi, a bar Manager who was kidnapped along Ikole Ijesa Isu road on Monday.

The youths in their numbers peacefully visited the headquarters, area command office of the Nigerian Police Force as well as paid visit to the house of the victim to sympathized with the family where they prayed for his quick release.

The Coordinating president Mr Toba Fatunla who lamented the worsening rate of insecurity caused by kidnapping in the area called on the state government under the leadership of Gov Kayode Fayemi to pay more attention to Ikole axis of the state while charging security operatives to flush out the perpetrators and rescue the victim.

According to him, “the issue of insecurity in our local government is now at an alarming rate despite. You will have to think twice if you want to travel from one town to the other. It is very important we have first hand reports concerning the issues around security in our communities and that is why we have to dialogue with the security agencies because we are aware of the huge efforts of government at ensuring the security of lives and property.

As community Presidents, it’s our avowed commitment to keep tasking security agencies to do well, sit tight and police our communities. We urge government at all levels to support and supply needed things to aid the Police Force, while a combined security effort will immediately help halt and douse the tension in Ikole LG”

The youths also visited the BEDC Office to engage the Manager. They said that Ikole people had been paying for the electricity they did not enjoy.
