IWD: Ekiti Forestry Commission Boss, Adekunle, Celebrates Women, Lauds Female Contributions to Nation Building

The Executive Secretary of the Ekiti State Forestry Commission, Otunba Adekunle Sunday David, has commended the women within the Commission for their dedication and contributions to the agency’s growth saying that they are replicating the important role of women in nation building.

He made the remarks during a special event marking this year’s International Women’s Day.

Speaking at the gathering, Adekunle reaffirmed his commitment to supporting female employees, describing them as key drivers of the Commission’s success. He praised their resilience and professionalism, urging them to remain steadfast in their duties.

“The progress of this Commission is built on teamwork and inclusivity. I celebrate all our women for their invaluable input and encourage them to keep striving for excellence,” he said.

Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Oluwabukola Babaniyi, expressed gratitude on behalf of the female staff, describing women as the architects of society. She emphasized that women in the Commission were not just playing supporting roles but were active participants in its achievements.

“We are proud to stand alongside our male colleagues as equal contributors to the success of the Commission,” she stated.

Mrs. Babaniyi commended the leadership of Otunba Adekunle, noting that his support had empowered women to take on crucial responsibilities. She also encouraged male staff members to continue to support their wives and families, stressing the importance of mutual respect in both professional and personal spheres.

The celebration reinforced the need for gender inclusivity within the Forestry Commission and highlighted the role of empowered women in driving sustainable progress. Participants left the event inspired, with renewed commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
