The Member representing the Oye Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly Mr Reuben Awoyemi has charged the newly sworn in Legislators of the Oye Local Government not to do anything outside the constitution.

Speaking after the inauguration of the councillors and the election of the principal officers, Awoyemi said that doing anything base on personal interest may lead to working at cross purpose with the executive.

Awoyemi thanked Governor Fayemi for the efforts towards making dividends of democracy accrue to the people at the grassroot through the creation of the LCDAs urging the councillors to live up to expectation by moving close to the people.

In his words ” Iawmaking is a huge task, you must acquaint yourself with what the law says. The newly elected leaders must also work in unison with others because a house divided against itself cannot stand. It is another opportunity to prove themselves to the people they are representing and whatever they do now would be said for or against them.

You can’t satisfy everybody. If you want to do, then you want to land yourself in troubles. That is when you begin to engage in what you are not supposed to do”

Awoyemi availed the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the well being of his constituents saying that he has replicated the gesture of Dr Kayode Fayemi who believes in serving the people.
