NUT Lauds Fayemi Over Donation Of Bus, Calls For Payment Of Arrears

 

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers in Ekiti State, Comrade Oke Emmanuel, said the promise of giving a bus to the teachers in Ekiti, during the last Teachers’ Day Celebration, has come to reality.

He made this known in Ado-Ekiti, the State Capital after receiving the gift from the State Governor. Describing the personality of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the number one teacher in Ekiti said the Governor is a promise keeper.

According to the Teachers boss, the Governor has fulfilled the promise. We have seen it, we have received it and we are very happy. We are saying a big thank you to the Governor on behalf of the NUT, Ekiti State “We are promising the Governor more of our loyalty to his administration, dedication to duty and commitment to service delivery in the State.”

Oke, who said that the bus will be for the use of all the teachers in the State, explained that it would be used for every official assignment they are having and that it would equally released to any member having one ceremony or the other if applied for.

Having commended the Governor for all his efforts for Ekiti teachers especially for fulfilling up to 80 per cent of his promises for them, Mr. Oke Emmanuel, urged the number one citizen of the State not to forget to defray the salary arrears of Ekiti teachers as he promised.

“We understand that the economy of the country is dwindling but we still believe that he would pay those outstanding before the expiration of his tenure if the economy booms” The Chairman vouched.
