Members of the Odua People’s Congress, OPC Ekiti State on Thursday 5th of May 2022 trooped out in their large numbers, demanding a peaceful process and credible outcome in the forthcoming Gubernatorial poll in the state.
The former Militia group of the Yoruba ethnic across the 16 Local Governments areas of the gathered in solidarity with the electorates to demand a peaceful, free, fair and credible conducts of all stakeholders in the forthcoming poll while they distributed handbills to sensitize the people on the need to shun violence.

The rally took off at the Ori Apata, Adebayo Area of Ado Ekiti, through Dallimore street to Okeyinmi and back to Fajuyi Park where the leaders addressed the populace not to entertain fear in discharging their lawful duty and exercising their franchise come June 18.
The Leader of the Congress Chief Sola Ojo called on the people to vote their conscience, protect their votes while condemning votes buying. He emphasis the need for the Congress to be strengthened and supported by the government in order to discharge certain duties of live, property and human right protection.
Chief Sola Ojo commended members of the Congress on their efforts towards ensuring peace and stability across various communities in Ekiti. He berated the rate at which insecurity becomes rampant in some axis within the state while calling o government to firm up on live and property protection.
The OPC leader debunked the rumour that a particular candidate had been endorsed by the Congress saying that the group was only interested in the victory of the people’s will.
Also, the Ekiti State OPC Public Relation Officer, Chief Fayemi Ogundare, affirmed that the aim of the rally was to give confidence to the electorate. He warned politicians against attempting to subvert the people’s will.
