*RAINSTORM WRECKS HAVOC IN BOUESTI

The Wednesday, 2nd March, 2022 heavy rainfall has caused great damages to some of buildings and equipment worth millions of Naira at the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Beyondnewsng.com has learnt.

Some of the facilities badly affected were hostels ( Halls A, B and C), the Directorate of Pre-Degree Programmes, School of Multidisciplinary Studies, Library Lecture Theatres, BOUESTI FM Radio and the equipment therein among others.

The rainfall accompanied with heavy storm also damaged many electric poles.

The BOUESTI Vice Chancellor Prof Olufemi Adeoluwa who inspected the affected facilities described the havoc wrecked by the rainstorm as disastrous and a setback for the infrastructural development of the New University.

He stated that the unfortunate incident would be brought to the notice of the State Government and other relevant agencies for their urgent assistance.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor has ordered the immediate rehabilitation of the roofs damaged by the rainstorm in the halls of residence to bring immediate relief to the occupants.
