The Ekiti State Government has honoured veteran journalist and Vice Chairman of the Ekiti Correspondents Chapel, NUJ, Mr. Gbenga Sodeinde, with the prestigious Ekiti Tourism Outstanding Media Supporters Award.
The award of recognition was given by the Bureau of Tourism Development during the commemoration of World Tourism Day 2024 at the Oroke Ewo Tourism Site in Ilupeju-Ekiti.
Mr. Sodeinde, who also serves as the Chief Editor of Heritagenews.com, was celebrated for his consistent media support in promoting tourism initiatives across the state. The award highlights his unwavering commitment to showcasing Ekiti’s tourism sector and his significant role in raising awareness about the state’s cultural and natural attractions.
Presenting the award, Director General of the Ekiti Bureau of Tourism Development, Ambassador Barr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, praised Mr. Sodeinde for his strategic media efforts, which have significantly advanced the growth of tourism in the state. Ojo-Lanre noted that the journalist’s contributions have enhanced the visibility of Ekiti’s unique attractions, thereby fostering tourism growth and development.
In his remarks, Ojo-Lanre stated, “Your commitment to promoting the state’s tourism sector through strategic media support has been instrumental in advancing tourism development. Your efforts have opened doors for greater economic opportunities.”
Upon receiving the award, Mr. Sodeinde expressed his gratitude to the Bureau for recognizing his efforts. He acknowledged the honor as a morale booster and pledged to continue his dedication to promoting Ekiti’s tourism sector for even greater achievements.
