A renown Philantropist and Politician in Ekiti State Comrade Yemi Ayodele Ayeni (YAA) has joined the National Assembly race to represent the People of Oye/ Ikole Constituency I in the Federal House of Representatives.
Comrade Ayeni a staunch community leader was at the National Secretariat of the Social Democratic Party Abuja where he obtained his Form of Expression and Nomination to represent his constituents.
YAA as widely called, explained that his decision to run for the position was not unconnected with the burning desire to make good impact on the law making process and system of the country which he said was taking the country into retrogression.
He noted that after observing the cries of the people caused by negligence on the part of various Representatives in the area, he deemed it fit to change the narratives and put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.

Yemi Ayeni further explained that his foundation, through a Non Governmental Organization had provided assistance to the less privileged through scholarship and bursaries for students, Monthly cash and Materials for widows and the aged, sponsoring entrepreneurship and development trainings for youths and artisans in the area and many other initiatives geared towards economic empowerment and self reliance of the people.
He berated the rate of insecurities: robbery and kidnapping as well as electricity blackout Oye, Ikole,Ijesa Isu axis saying that the current handlers of government had missed out in their core responsibilities.
In his words “We have all seen how Nigeria today and Our own Dear state Ekiti is been run by leaders the people entrusted with power, we cannot continue to sit down, look and complain without taking steps towards changing the narratives”
He added ” It saddens that the People in Oye/ Ikole constituency 1 are groaning without any attention from any quarters. We have been trying our best as a private individual and Non Governmental Organization, the best anyone could do is not just to provide reliefs but change the sorrowful situation and provide a platform for the actualization of individual and collective aspirations“.
The SDP aspirant called on Ekiti people to look inward and make a critical disection of all candidates running for the June 18 Governorship election, saying that Engineer Segun Oni is the only sincere Leader who could Savage the state from continuos shortchanging and sipohining.

He assured the people of better days saying that a vote for Segun Oni as well as Yemi Ayodele Ayeni is a vote for development and freedom from backwardness noting that if he had done alot in helping the known and the unknown faces in Ekiti state as a private individual, His emergence at the Lower Chamber would be another opportunity to serve them well.
The National Chairman of the Party Dr Olu Agunloye lauded the various developmental strives embarked upon by YAA while calling in all party members to go to the grassroot and ensure victory for the SDP candidate in the forthcoming election
Some of the constituents who spoke with BeyondNews Editor, express joy and confidence in Comrade Yemi Ayodele Ayeni whom they described as a grassroot politician loved across political parties in the area because of his rare efforts towards uplifting them.
