SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY PRONOUNCES EKITI-BORN OLOFINBIYI, PROFESSOR OF CRIMINOLOGY, FORENSIC STUDIES

One of the Promising Sons of Ekiti State and academic, Dr. Sogo Olofinbiyi has been promoted to the rank of Professor by the senate of the Venda University, South Africa.

In the recently released lifting of academics in the University, Dr. Sogo Olofinbiyi, became the youngest academic in the history of the institution to be pronounced a Professor at a young age of 39 years.

His stint for a career in academics started at the University of Ibadan, where he bagged his first degree and became the best graduating student of his class that year.

He also distinguished himself during his master’s degree programme at the University of Lagos so much so that he was given a job as a Graduate Assistant to teach while on the Master’s programme in the University.

On the completion of his Master’s degree programme at the University of Lagos, Prof. Sogo Olofinbiyi was given a PhD scholarship by the South African government to purse a course of study in Criminology and Forensic Studies, at KwaZulu Natal University, South Africa, a feat he attained in 2018.

A South African National Research Foundation scholar, Prof. Sogo Olofunbiyi, prior to his announcement by the senate of Venda University, South Africa had published a book entitled: _The Crisis of Boko Haram Insurgency: Causes and Perspectives_ , where Prof. Sogo Olofinbiyi proffers solutions the the numerous security challenges bedevilling Nigeria.

In related development, the Chief Executive Officer of Adolescent Friendly Research Initiative and Care (ADOLFRIC) Dr. Babatunde Ajayi Olofinbiyi, has congratulated Professor Sogo Olofinbiyi on his recent promotion to the rank of Professor by the Senate of Venda University, South Africa.

Dr. Babatunde Olofinbiyi in a statement made available to journalists on Ado-Ekiti at the weekend described Prof. Sogo Olofinbiyi’s elevation as a testimony to his unwavering commitment to excellence dedication to work.

He commended Prof. Sogo Olofinbiyi for making Ekiti State proud in South Africa having had his prints on the sands of time in the world academic profile.
