A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Princess Teju Okuyiga, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in her constituency as they commence this year’s Ramadan fasting.
Okuyiga, who represents the people of Gbonyin LCDA and Aiyekire Local Government, urged her constituents to use the sacred period to offer prayers for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Ekiti State.
The ranking legislator emphasized the importance of unity, patience, and devotion during the holy month, calling on Muslims to imbibe the virtues of Ramadan in their daily lives.
She particularly urged them to pray for the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, noting that his leadership remains committed to the development of the state and the welfare of its people.
“I felicitate with all my Muslim brothers and sisters in Gbonyin and Aiyekire as they embark on this spiritual journey of fasting, reflection, and charity. May Allah accept your prayers and sacrifices,” Okuyiga said in a statement on Sunday.
The lawmaker called for continued support for the Oyebanji-led government, stressing that collective efforts and cooperation were crucial to achieving the governor’s vision for a greater Ekiti.
Okuyiga, who is fondly called Asoju Ayiye by her people, assured her constituents of her unwavering commitment to quality representation and the advancement of their interests.
She reiterated her dedication to legislative efforts that would enhance the standard of living in her constituency, pledging to continue pushing for policies and initiatives that would positively impact the people.
“As your representative, I remain steadfast in my duty to ensure that your voices are heard, and your concerns are addressed. Together, we will continue to work for a better Ekiti,” she added.
The Ramadan fasting, which commenced this month, is one of the five pillars of Islam, observed by millions of Muslims worldwide as a period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and communal support.
