RESOLUTE AND UNWAVERING: HON. SUNDAY OLA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RACE

Hon. Sunday Ola wishes to categorically restate his unwavering determination to contest for the ticket of the House of Representatives, representing Ado/Ifelodun Federal Constituency.

Contrary to rumours and misleading narratives being circulated in some quarters, he has neither stepped down nor entered into any agreement to do so. His aspiration remains firmly on course, driven by conviction, widespread support, and a clear vision for effective representation.

It has come to our attention that certain individuals are engaging in actions aimed at confusing party members by suggesting that a candidate has already been chosen. This is not only inaccurate but runs contrary to the principles of fairness, transparency, and internal democracy that our great party, the APC, stands for.

The provisions of the Electoral Act are clear on the issue of consensus. As rightly noted by the National Chairman of our party, Prof. Nentawe, a consensus candidate can only emerge through the voluntary agreement of all aspirants. Consensus cannot be imposed or manufactured; it must be the product of mutual understanding and collective consent.

In light of the current situation, Hon. Sunday Ola reiterates his strong preference for a transparent and credible process. In the absence of unanimous agreement among aspirants, he firmly supports the conduct of direct primaries as the most democratic path forward.

He therefore calls on the leadership of the party, respected stakeholders, and all members to uphold the integrity of the process by ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants.

Hon. Sunday Ola also urges his supporters to remain calm, focused, and resolute. The journey continues with renewed strength and confidence.

Signed:
