The Kosere Movement in Ekiti State, led by Oluwatosin Ogunkuade Jasper, has stepped up grassroots mobilisation in support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election, taking its campaign to Ikogosi Ekiti ahead of the April 27 campaign flag-off and the June 20 governorship election.
At a town square meeting attended by residents and stakeholders, the group promoted continuity based on the administration’s development record since 2022. The Movement, a longstanding grassroots platform, highlighted its role in Oyebanji’s 2022 electoral victory and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding support across the state ahead of the 2026 election.
Speaking through coordinator Mr Oladele Oladeji Oje, the convener, Ogunkuade, expressed appreciation to the people for their consistent support, noting that such backing has enabled the administration to deliver on its programmes.
Speakers at the event cited improvements in infrastructure, youth engagement, and community development as evidence of government impact. The group also showcased its intervention projects, including the rehabilitation of a previously non-functional borehole in the Ilaro community of Ikogosi Ekiti, restoring access to clean water for residents.
Community members praised both the government and the Movement for addressing critical needs and commended Ogunkuade’s dedication, noting that his long-standing contributions to grassroots empowerment and community development have earned him credibility and respect.
The State Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Dolamu Adeniyi, who was represented by Hon. Ojo Ayodele lauded the Kosere Movement for addressing critical community needs, describing its activities as aligned with the government’s development agenda. He called on other BAO support groups to emulate the approach by focusing on people-oriented projects with direct impact, adding that grassroots engagement remains essential for sustaining public confidence and political stability.
Ogunkuade also urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the campaigns and election. He emphasised the need for maximum turnout, stressing that “every available vote must be secured.
