Adaralegbe Applauds Bamidele’s Development Strides, Hails Ekiti Projects

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement and former councillor of Igede-Ekiti Ward B, Honourable Folashade Olubunmi Adaralegbe, has commended the Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, for his numerous developmental projects across Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

Adaralegbe, who lauded Bamidele’s efforts in a press release made available to journalists on Friday, described the senator’s contributions as unprecedented in the history of the district, emphasizing that his leadership had brought significant infrastructural and economic progress to the people of Ekiti.

She particularly hailed Bamidele for sponsoring the bill that led to the establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Science, Iyin-Ekiti. According to her, the institution, which has been assented to by the President, represents a major milestone in the advancement of education and technology in the state.

Adaralegbe highlighted the commissioning of several projects facilitated by the senator across Ekiti Central, including ultra-modern markets in Aramoko, Igede, and Iyin-Ekiti, noting that these markets would enhance trade, create job opportunities, and promote economic growth, particularly night economy  in the affected communities.

She also commended Bamidele for his role in empowering women and youths, stressing that his interventions had improved the standard of living for many. She cited the ongoing renovation of the Women Skill Acquisition Center in Igede-Ekiti as a notable initiative aimed at boosting entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency among women.

In addition, Adaralegbe acknowledged the senator’s efforts in improving power supply through the provision of transformers to underserved communities, remarking that the electrification projects had positively impacted small businesses, making economic activities more viable across the district.

She further revealed that 100 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Igede Ekiti alone, would benefit from a financial grant of N100,000 each under an empowerment program facilitated by Bamidele. According to her, this initiative demonstrates the senator’s commitment to economic development and poverty alleviation.

Speaking on sports development, Adaralegbe praised Bamidele for constructing mini-stadia across five local government areas, stating that the facilities would serve as a platform for talent discovery and youth engagement in productive activities.

The senator’s contributions to the health sector were also acknowledged, with Adaralegbe listing projects such as the construction of a medical hostel at Ekiti State University, the donation of an ambulance to the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital, and the provision of an FM radio station for the university. She described these initiatives as vital to improving healthcare and information dissemination in the state.

She commended Bamidele for lobbying the federal government to expedite the rehabilitation of federal roads in the state. She noted that improved road infrastructure would enhance transportation, ease business operations, and connect communities more effectively.

Adaralegbe further described Bamidele’s leadership as selfless, saying his influence had gone beyond his immediate constituency, maintaining that his contributions were shaping the socio-economic landscape of Ekiti for the better.

She congratulated the senator on the honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) award recently conferred on him by Ekiti State University in recognition of his contributions to the development of the state. She asserted that the recognition was well deserved, given his dedication to governance and community service.

She also acknowledged the synergy between the state government, under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the National Assembly members from Ekiti, led by Bamidele, saying that their collaborative efforts had accelerated several development projects in the state.

Adaralegbe urged the people of Ekiti to continue supporting and praying for Bamidele’s initiatives and the administration of Governor Oyebanji. She expressed confidence that sustained cooperation between political leaders and the people would lead to greater progress.

As the newly commissioned projects begin to serve the people, she assured residents that more initiatives would be implemented to further enhance economic growth and infrastructural development across Ekiti State, urging beneficiaries to make the best use of the dividends accruing to them.
