BOUESTI Unveils Vision for Global University Status as Olanipekun Appeals for Unity, Accountability in Pursuit of Excellence

In a compelling address at the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology Ikere Ekiti (BOUESTI) council’s retreat held in Ado Ekiti, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Chairman of the Committee of Pro Chancellor of State-Owned University (COPSUN), Professor Yusuf Ali, has emphasized that it is imperative for Nigerian institutions to integrate innovation and technology for them to thrive in the 21st century.

Professor Ali who stressed that neglecting innovation and technology is suicidal to any society, asserted that certain elements are indispensable for success in the contemporary era.

According to him, there is a crucial need for governing councils of the various institution to collaborate efficiently with relevant groups, organizations and individuals, make swift decisions, and foster a robust academic environment for their institutions to triumph the challenges of the 21st century among other immediate issues militating against their prosperity.

The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of BOUESTI, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina, elucidated on the theme of the program “Re-inventing the Wheel of Progress for Rare Achievements in a 21st Century University.”

He outlined the objective of advancing the institution and assured the commitment of the council to propel the university to global prominence through support for international initiatives.

Legal luminary and Chancellor of BOUESTI, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), urged the council members and participants to exhibit selflessness, unity, and accountability towards the realization of the university’s goals.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for achievements in Ekiti State, Chief Olanipekun urged citizens to support the administration’s agenda.

Also at the event, the Registrar of the University of Benin, Dr. Ademola Bobola, called for enhanced synergy between the council and management for optimal achievement and progress.

In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa affirmed that insights gained from the retreat would be effectively utilized to positively influence the school’s management.

He hammered on the fact that BOUESTI’s dedication to education and nurturing future leaders is poised to steering the country for global competitiveness.

Participants interviewed by Beyond News Correspondent conveyed optimism that the retreat would play a pivotal role in reshaping the institution for sustained progress and excellence.
