BOUESTI VC, Omojola Swears in SUG Leadership, Urges Students to Maximise FG Students’ Loan

The Vice-Chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology,Ikere-Ekiti, Prof. Babatunde Omojola has urged the students of the institution to key into the Nigeria Education loan Fund, (NELfund).

Prof. Omojola gave the advise during the inauguration and Swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Students’ Union Government of the university.

According to him, embracing the Nelfund scheme would significantly reduce the financial burden on students and their parents. He noted that the Federal Government introduced the initiative to ease the pressure of school fees on parents.
“Apart from paying your school fees, beneficiaries will also receive stipends”.

The Vice Chancellor, appreciated the peaceful atmosphere the university enjoyed during the tenure of the last executive and charged the new executive to follow suit.

Prof.Omojola advised the students not to forget their primary purpose in the university, among which is to make good grade out of the university. Stressing that diligence and hard work is key to academic success.

He promised to operate an open door policy expressing his readiness to mingle and interact with them always whenever the need arises.

He said only a robust communication synergy can foster peace, growth and development in the University.

The Dean Student Affairs, Prof Dayo Daramola, urged the students to be law abiding at all times, upholding the highest culture of good and moral conduct.

He charged the students to always seek ways through which they could contribute their quota to Student Unionism policy formulation and implementation.

Prof Daramola charged them to be law abiding, and shun social vices that could bring the name of the University to disrepute and by extension their own career after graduation.

The oath of office was administered on the newly elected executives by the University Director of Legal Services, Barrister Busuyi Jayeoba.

In his handover speech, the immediate past Student Union Government President, Comrade Ayeni Opeyemi Mavas, thanked the University Management for their parental advice during his tenure and promised to extend his wealth of experience to the incoming government in order to foster a peaceful academic atmosphere.

The new Students Union Government President, Comrade Sanya Ifeoluwa Amos, promised to prioritise the welfare and wellbeing of the entire students with an assurance to lead with integrity.
He solicited the support of other students to achieve the desire goals with a promise to work harmoniously with the University management.
