Christmas: EKWIM Urges Good Leadership, Empathy, and Women’s Emancipation

The Ekiti State Women in Management (EKWIM) has emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, compassion for the less privileged, and the continued fight for women’s emancipation as a way to creating a more inclusive and empathetic society.

In its Christmas message, the Coordinator of EKWIM, Dr. Oyeyemi Kayode Ojo, called on individuals and organizations to use the festive season to reflect on the very essence of the season which reminds Christian faithful, of the need to be humble in power as exemplified in the birth of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Kayode Ojo who explained that leadership is about service and responsibility, not just positions of power urged leaders across all sectors to adopt ethical practices and prioritize the welfare of those they serve. “Good leadership transforms lives and communities. It’s about making decisions that inspire growth, empower the vulnerable, and build a legacy of hope.”

The festive message highlighted the essence of the Christmas season as a time for giving and spreading kindness with EKWIM appealing to the public to show empathy and support to the less privileged, particularly women and children who often face the harshest societal challenges. “This season offers us the chance to demonstrate compassion and stand together in solidarity,” she said.

She called on stakeholders to build inclusive systems that prioritize fairness and equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender or status, lauding the effort of the Ekiti State Government under Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the first Lady Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji for sustaining the tempo of inclusive governance and women empowerment in the state.
