The erstwhile woman leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state, Hon Mrs Yemisi Afolabi has congratulated Muslim faithful in the state and Nigeria at large on the occasion of this year’s Eid- El – Fitri celebration.
The Efon Alaaye born Female Politician and Philantropist observed that said the celebration which marked the end of thirty days Ramadan fasting in accordance with Allah commandment worth celebrating by the Muslim ummahs.
Afolabi urged believers to abide by the lessons of Ramadan which she listed as sacrifice, perseverance, prayer, forgiveness and help to the needy in the society. She emphasized the need for religious tolerance for harmonious relationship and peaceful coexistence saying that bigots have been successful in using religion as a tool for division in theme Nigerian society.
The PDP chieftain charged Muslims to use the period to pray for peace and progress of Ekiti state as the people prepare for the June 18 Governorship election. S he also said that it was important to always remember Nigeria as a country needing serious prayers for divine intervention.
Hon Mrs Afolabi prayed that the joy of the season will abide with everyone and wished the Muslim faithful Ramadan Mubarak.
