Eid: Popoola Greets Muslims, Seeks Support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Backs Biodun Oyebanji Ahead 2026 Polls

Prince Idowu Iranlade Popoola, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Ekiti State on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, urging them to sustain the virtues of sacrifice, discipline and godliness imbibed during the holy month while continuing to support the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a goodwill message made available to journalists on the occasion of Eid celebrations, Popoola described the end of Ramadan as a moment of deep spiritual significance, noting that the period offered Muslims the opportunity to reconnect with Allah, strengthen their faith and embrace values that promote peaceful coexistence and communal harmony in society.

The aspirant, who is seeking to represent the people of Ido/Osi, Moba and Ilejemeje Local Government Areas at the National Assembly, specifically congratulated Muslims in the three councils, commending their steadfastness throughout the fasting period and their enduring commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths.

Popoola paid glowing tribute to the Muslim community in the constituency for what he described as their maturity, tolerance and exemplary conduct, emphasizing that their peaceful disposition has continued to foster stability and development across communities within the federal constituency.

He expressed appreciation to Muslim faithful for their unwavering support for the Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Biodun Oyebanji, noting that such support has contributed significantly to the steady progress being witnessed in the state across various sectors.

According to him, the cooperation between the government and the people, particularly religious groups, has created an enabling environment for policies and programmes of government to thrive, adding that sustained prayers and support remain critical to the success of any administration.

The House of Representatives hopeful therefore urged the Muslim Ummah not to relent in offering prayers for the state and the nation, stressing that divine guidance and intervention are essential in navigating the complex challenges confronting Nigeria at this time.

Popoola further called on Muslims to reflect deeply on the lessons of Ramadan, including selflessness, compassion, patience and devotion, urging them to allow these virtues to guide their daily interactions and contributions to nation building even after the fasting period.

He noted that Ramadan is not only a period of abstinence from food and drink, but also a time for moral purification and spiritual rebirth, encouraging adherents to remain steadfast in righteousness and uphold values that strengthen the social fabric of society.

While addressing political developments in the state, Popoola appealed to the Muslim community to reciprocate what he described as the inclusive governance style of the Oyebanji administration through massive support at the polls during the June 2026 governorship election.

He stressed that the administration of Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated fairness and equity in governance, particularly in its deliberate efforts to accommodate all religious groups in the scheme of things, thereby promoting unity and inclusiveness in Ekiti State.

The aspirant highlighted the appointment of over 50 Muslim faithful into key and strategic positions within the current administration, describing the development as unprecedented and a clear departure from past narratives of perceived religious marginalization.

According to him, such gestures have not only strengthened the bond between the government and the Muslim community but have also reinforced a sense of belonging among adherents of the Islamic faith across the state.

Popoola maintained that the inclusive policies of the Oyebanji-led government have set a new standard for governance in Ekiti, where competence and fairness are prioritized above religious considerations, thereby fostering sustainable development.

He reiterated his call for continued support for President Tinubu, expressing optimism that the policies of the federal government would yield long-term benefits for Nigerians, while urging citizens to remain patient and supportive.

The aspirant assured the people of Ekiti North Federal Constituency II of his commitment to quality representation if elected, pledging to build on the existing foundation of unity and development while ensuring that the voices of his constituents are adequately represented at the national level.

Popoola concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid celebration, praying that the blessings of Ramadan would bring peace, prosperity and renewed hope to families, communities and the nation at large.
