Ekiti Assembly to hold public hearing to mark 30th anniversary

The Ekiti State House of Assembly will on Tuesday, October 6, hold a public hearing as part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.
The public hearing, according to a statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs and Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Hon. Babatunde Oke, Signed by the Director of Information Services, EKHA, Mr Olasunkanmi Ekundayo, is designed to provide members of the public and other stakeholders an opportunity to examine the growth and development of Ekiti State over the past three decades.
Oke said the event would also offer stakeholders an avenue to reflect on the state’s journey since its creation, identify the progress recorded so far and deliberate on the challenges confronting its development.
He explained that the anniversary was not only an occasion for celebration but also an opportunity to assess the achievements of the state and collectively chart a course for a more prosperous future.
The public hearing is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m. at the Chamber of the Ekiti State House of Assembly in Ado Ekiti.
The statement urged invited stakeholders to arrive by 10:00 a.m. for accreditation, while members of the public are expected to be seated by 10:30 a.m.
The event is expected to bring together lawmakers, government officials, traditional rulers, development stakeholders, civil society groups and members of the public to deliberate on Ekiti State’s development over the past 30 years and the prospects for the future.
