The Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD) in Ekiti State, has called for discipline and good conducts among the newly recruited staff of the Technical and vocational colleges in the state.
The OTSD Director General, Dr. John Moyo Ekundayo represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Service Delivery,Toba Fatunla, participated in a three-day training program aimed at equipping the staff with the necessary skills to strengthen technical and vocational education in the state.
Held at the Government Technical College Hall in Ado-Ekiti, the event brought together over 100 junior and senior staff members for orientation where key stakeholders, including the Commissioner for Education, represented by TESCOM Permanent Secretary Mr. Sunday Boluwade, and the Senior Special Assistant on Technical and Vocational Education, joined directors of the board and technical college principals at the seminar.
In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of Dr. John Moyo Ekundayo, Special Adviser and Director General of OTSD, Fatunla stressed the importance of diligence, discipline, and serving as role models, highlighting the critical role of vocational education in driving the growth and development of both Ekiti State and Nigeria.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment to enhancing the quality of service delivery in the technical and vocational education sector, emphasizing that the newly recruited staff have a responsibility to uphold the state’s vision of fostering skill development and innovation, which are crucial for empowering the youth and addressing unemployment.
He further encouraged the inductees to approach their roles with a mindset of continuous improvement, noting that vocational education plays a pivotal role in bridging the skills gap in Nigeria. Fatunla assured the participants that the government would continue to support their professional development and create opportunities for growth within the sector.
