The EKiti State Women in Management EKWIM has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Head of Service Barrister Bamidele Àgbède, congratulating him for attaining the peak of the state civil service career.

The delegation which was led by its Cordinator Mrs Oyeyemi Kayode Ojo described that the appointment of he Barrister Àgbède as well deserved urging him to maintain and improve on his pedigree which had earned him much respect and consideration for the leadership of the state civil service.

According to Mrs Kayode Ojo, one of the purpose of the visit was to intimate the HOS with the existence and activities of EKWIM in the state.

She noted that EKWIM was inaugurated by HE, Erelu Bisi Fayemi on 11th of March, 2021 to mentor and strengthen the cause of women in the Public Service.

“Since its inauguration, EKWIM has embarked on a number of activities to positively impact the Public Service some of which are: Outreach program where officers in difficult circumstances were supported with foods and gift items; a day out with HE, Erelu Bisi Fayemi to mentor other women where Her Excellency shared her experience on how she climbed the leadership ladder,

* We also have the sensitization program for women officers in public service amongst others.

The EKWIM coordinator therefore called on the HOS to continue supporting women in and outside the civil service just as he was doing before his appointment.

Responding, BarristerAgbede lauded the motive behind EKWIM. He said he was proud of the women particularly in the area of management of resources. He assured them that his tenure would do every thing possible to support their activities.

He also encouraged EKWIM to explore international opportunities , noting that some organizations are willing to collaborate and support women’s associations. He charged them to continue upholding their integrity while emulating other great women who have made impacts.

In attendance at the event were the Permanent Secretary Ministry Establishment Mr Bayo Opeyemi, and some other principal officers of EKWIM including Mrs Jegede Bosede, Mrs Kolawole Yetunde (Secretary), Mrs Yomi Osuntokun ( PRO), and Mrs Gbenga-Igotun Olusola ( Coord, EKWIM Central Committee).

Others are Mrs Adebimpe Ayodele (Member), Mrs Bukola Faluyi (Member), Mrs Olabisi Ogunmodede (Member) and Bosede Yinka Jegede ( Social Secretary).
