Ekiti State Waste Management Agency (EKWMA) has distributed sanitary materials worth millions of naira to street sweepers across the state

The gesture aimed to boost the morale and hygiene of the workers as well to keep the state’s environment clean.

The materials included gloves, brooms, face masks, jackets, waste bins and disinfectants, essential for the sweepers’ daily tasks.

At a ceremony in Ado Ekiti, EKWMA’s Director General, Mr Sunkanmi Onipede handed over the materials to the street sweepers and emphasized the importance of their work in maintaining Ekiti’s cleanliness and beauty.

The Director General explained that the distribution was part of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s efforts to improve working conditions for street sweepers and promote a cleaner Ekiti State.

Mr Onipede appealed to residents of the to cooperate with sweepers and maintain the state’s cleanliness.

He noted that the agency had collaborated with various stakeholders to ensure effective waste management and used the forum to solicit votes for Governor Oyebanji during the June 20th governorship election.

Reacting, The sweepers who could not hide their joy expressed gratitude for the materials, saying it would make their work easier and safer.

The street sweepers therefore pledged to continue good work, ensuring Ekiti State remains clean and beautiful and thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his support and commitment to improving the agency.
