BOUESTI VC Spots Student’s Entrepreneurial Spirit, Offers Business Support

In a commendable demonstration of support for student enterprise and self-reliance, the Vice-Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) Professor Andrew Babatunde Omojola, has granted a ₦50,000 business support loan to a 100-level Accounting student, Miss Akinade Oluwaseunfunmi.

The gesture occurred during the University’s orientation programme for newly admitted students, where the Vice-Chancellor noticed the young student diligently selling snacks to her colleagues. Impressed by her industrious spirit and entrepreneurial initiative despite being at the early stage of her academic journey, Professor Omojola decided to support her budding venture.

While presenting the loan, the Vice-Chancellor expressed delight that a fresh undergraduate could demonstrate such determination and business acumen. He reiterated the University’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and entrepreneurial development among its students, commending Miss Akinade for taking the initiative to begin building her future rather than waiting until after graduation.

The financial support, offered as an interest-free loan repayable after graduation, drew resounding applause from the newly admitted students present at the programme.

The gesture reflects Professor Omojola who according to him sponsored his own education at the University of Ibadan with money made from photography vision of raising graduates who will become job creators and innovators, rather than merely job seekers.

The highly elated student, Akinade Oluwaseun said the proceed from the trade was being used to support her academic pursuit promised to make judicious use of the money as well as strive towards excellent in her academic career.
