Oyebanji Inspects Rural Projects, Pledges Swift Completion of Are-Oye Ekiti, Expresses Satisfaction with Contractor

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rural development, assuring residents of Are Ekiti in Ifedara Local Council Development Area and Oye Ekiti in Oyebanji Local Government that the ongoing road construction linking their communities will be completed without delay.

The governor gave the assurance during an inspection of rural projects across the state, emphasizing the significance of the road to local economic activities. The project is being executed under the Rural Agricultural Marketing Programme (RAAMP), a collaboration between the Ekiti State Government, the Federal Government, and the World Bank.

At the project site in Are Ekiti, Oyebanji lauded the contractor, Hallekem Construction Company, for the progress made and urged the firm to adhere strictly to quality standards. He stressed the need for durable construction, assuring that his administration remains committed to ensuring the road serves residents for years to come.

He noted that the contractors chosen for the various jobs were people with good pedigree and professional integrity whom he can vouch for that they will deliver the best for the people.

The governor also appealed to the host communities to support the contractors to facilitate smooth execution as he revealed that plans are underway to commence the second phase of the project, which will extend the road from Odode Quarters to the newly constructed Airport ring road in the town

Highlighting the broader goal of his administration’s rural development drive, Oyebanji noted that improved road infrastructure would ease farmers’ access to markets, enhance mobility, and ultimately improve livelihoods. He promised continued investment in rural infrastructure to improve the standard of living for Ekiti residents.

Speaking on behalf of the contractors, the Project Manager of Hallekem Construction, Engineer Martins Adeniran, stated that the project had reached its second phase, with the hydraulic structure nearing completion. He assured that the company would maintain its reputation for high-quality execution.

He assured that the project will be completed before the end of the year saying that they were already addressing some technical issues capable of causing delay in delivery.

Other projects inspected by the governor included the renovation of Ilupeju/Itapa Hospital, the Ilupeju-Igbo Egan-Ayede Road, the Iye-Olopomeji-Ikun Road, and the General Hospitals in Iye and Ifaki Ekiti.
