Ikole Youth Hail Gov. Oyebanji, Dr. Filani, CMD During Courtesy Visit to FMC
Youth stakeholders under the banner of *Ikole LG Youth United Front* have lauded the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, for the siting of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Ikole Ekiti.
During a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of FMC Ikole, Professor Johnson Dare Ogunlusi, the youth group comprising representatives from the 25 communities in the local government area expressed gratitude to the state government for what they described as a transformative healthcare intervention.
Led by the group’s conveners—Rt. Hon. Toba Fatunla (former Coordinating President), Mr. Olaniyi Falade, and the current Coordinating President, Mr. Kehinde Alonge—the delegation was warmly received by the hospital’s management.
Professor Ogunlusi commended the youth leaders for their peaceful engagement and reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality and accessible healthcare services to residents of Ikole and its environs.
He noted that the FMC has already recorded significant milestones in healthcare delivery, including several successful surgical procedures within a short period of operation. He also expressed readiness to partner with the youth on community development initiatives that will enhance the hospital’s growth and sustainability.
In their remarks, the youth leaders praised Governor Oyebanji for his visionary leadership and Dr. Filani for his tireless efforts, which they said were crucial in ensuring the realization of the medical facility. They also appreciated other key stakeholders who contributed to the establishment of the hospital.
Other senior officials present at the meeting included the Deputy CMD, Dr. Rosiji; the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Fayigbe Abayomi; and several other top management personnel.
