A strong proponent of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and Director at the National Humanitarian Office, Abuja, Mrs Bunmi Bello has commended the members of Ilogbo High School Alumni Association for their dedication to improving education in Ilogbo Ekiti and the wider Ekiti State.
Bello gave the applause at the school’s 50th anniversary celebration, where she served as chairperson of the event.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the award presentation to people who had contributed significantly to the growth of the school, from within and outside the town, Mrs Bello gave kudos to the association for its role in rescuing the school from challenges and supporting government initiatives in the education sector.
She availed the avenue to outline the various federal government’s ongoing investments in education and welfare programs aimed at reducing poverty and enhancing resilience amidst the nation’s economic difficulties.
She urged Nigerians to rally behind the Tinubu administration, describing the “Renewed Hope” agenda as a collective mission to addressing the nation’s developmental gaps.
According to her, the administration is committed to transforming the education sector and ensuring equal education opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of background.
In his speech, the outgoing National President of the alumni association, Mr. Tunde Agbebi, called for greater investment in education, emphasizing that the quality of education provided to younger generations would shape the nation’s future leadership.
Agbebi described the event as a call to action for stakeholders to prioritize educational development at the grass root and rural areas, calling on Ekiti state government under Governor Biodun Oyebanji to immediately come to the aid of the school in terms of infrastructure and more quality teachers to handle the various subjects.
The Director of Special Duties at the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Dr. Omojola Awosusi, who served two terms as the registrar Ekiti State University, highlighted the need for collaboration between the government and non-governmental organizations to provide quality education and relevant information to the populace.
The event culminated in the inauguration of the association’s new executive members, led by Prince Idowu Jegede as President. The news Alumni President in his acceptance speech vowed to strengthen the association’s impact by partnering with key stakeholders in order to improve infrastructure and academic performance at the school.
He called on members to support the team’s efforts in ensuring sustained progress and excellence.
