MAY DAY: EKITI COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS’ ASSOCIATION DEMANDS CONHESS PAYMENT TO MEMBERS

The Ekiti State Chairman National Association of Community Health Workers Mr Olatunbosun Temitope Isaac has called for an improved welfares for members of the Association as workers in Nigeria Celebrate this year’s workers Day.

Olatunbosun who congratulates members of the Association for witnessing another celebration after a two year cancellation of the celebration due to the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 said that it was important to give more recognition and renumeration to health workers at the various health centres in the state.
He explained that this category of health workers are the closest to the grassroot.

He lamented the seclusion of the members of the Association from the payment of CONHESS which he observed that the perceived injustice has been demoralizing health workers at the local government seeing their colleagues at the state level well renumerated than them even while they do much of the job.

Olatunbosun however commended the state government for the various facilities put in place at the various Basic and Comprehensive Health Centres across the state noting that such had reduced drastically the rate of mortality in various community.

He called for.more improvement in the working conditions of the members when charging them not to relent in ensuring that community health of various towns are well taken care of.
